Influence of vacancy ordering on the precolative behavior of [Li(sub 1-x)Na(sub x)](sub 3a)La(sub 2/3-y)TiO(sub 3) perovskites

Article Abstract:

Neutron diffraction (ND), impedance spectroscopy (IS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and Monte Carlo simulations were used to investigate influence of the vacancy concentration on the Li conductivity of the [Li(sub 1-x)Na(sub x)](sub 0.2)La(sub 0.6)TiO(sub 3) and [Li(sub 1-x)Na(sub x)](sub 0.5)La(sub 0.5)TiO(sub 3) perovskite series, with 0 less than or equal to x less than 1. A Monte Carlo method is used to analyze the influence of vacancy distributed on Li diffusion.

Arrangement and mobility of water in vermiculite hydrates followed by H' NMR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The arrangement of water molecules in one- and two- layer hydrates of high-charged vermiculites, saturated with alkaline ([Li.sup.+], [Na.sup.+]) and alkali-earth ([Mg.sup.2+], [Ca.sup.2+], [Ba.sup.2+]) cations are analyzed with H NMR spectroscopy. Result shows that the existence of two orientations for H-H vectors that are compatible with two different arrangements deduced for water molecule in vermiculite hydrates.

Distribution of Si and Al in clintonites: a combined NMR and Monte Carlo study

Article Abstract:

The distribution of silicon and aluminum over the tetrahedral sheets of clitonites (aluminum rich phyllosilicates 2:1) is studied by NMR spectroscopy. The atom distribution simulated by Monte Carlo procedure reveal a homogenous dispersion of electrostatic charge over the phyllosilicates layers.
